Ever had a half of grapefruit for breakfast? You probably didn’t realize all the benefits + nutrients you were adding into your day just from that small, breakfast treat!

These juicy + bright colored super fruits were first found on a Caribbean Island called Barbados.
They grow on evergreen trees in the Caribbean forrest + are considered a hybrid of oranges and pomelos.
There are three different kinds of grapefruits: Red, Pink and white, each ranging with different levels of sweet and bitter. Red being the sweetest, white being the most bitter and pink is know as the”goldilocks just right’ variety of them all.
There are also a few other hybrids of crosses between Pomelos (a much larger citrus fruit) and white grapefruit. This variety is called “White Gold”

Citrus is a great way to brighten up a salad. Add pieces of the juicy flesh, or juice it and use it as an ingredient in a delicious low calorie salad dressing.
Grilling some chicken for dinner? Add a half of a grapefruit face down on the grill. Allow the natural sugars in the fruit to caramelize slightly, then squeeze the juice over the chicken just before serving. Y U M.

Grapefruit Ginger Spritzer
A simple, sparkling + immune boosting drink.
What You’ll Need:
One cup of ‘Grapefruit Ginger Juice’ (Add a small knob of ginger to your juicer while juicing about two medium grapefruits.)
2 cups of unflavored seltzer water.
Ice
How To:
Mix everything together and pour over ice.
Garnish with a fresh slice of grapefruit + enjoy!
If you want to sweeten this drink just a bit, you can add a teaspoon of honey, maple syrup, or a splash of orange juice!
