What You’ll Need:

IMG_7957.JPG
  • Gluten Free Pasta

  • 1 Clove of Garlic, Minced

  • 1/2 Cup of Heavy Cream

  • 2/3 Cup of White Wine (I used a Sauvignon Blanc)

  • Cornstarch Slurry (Mix 1/2 TBSP of Cornstarch with 1 1/2 TBSP of cold water)

  • Pinch of Cayenne Pepper

  • 1/2 Tsp Salt

  • 1/2 Tsp Fresh Cracked Black Pepper

  • Avocado Oil

  • Your Choice of Protein (Shrimp or ChIcken) Suggestion: Cook your protein ahead of time to make this dish even simpler!)

  • Fresh Parsley + Lemon + Parmesan Cheese for garnish (all optional but recommended!)

How To:

  1. In a medium sauce pan, add a bit of avocado oil and the minced garlic. On medium heat, sauté until the garlic fragrant, making sure it doesn’t burn.

  2. Add the heavy cream, white wine, cornstarch slurry, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Allow the mixture to come up to a light boil, then reduce the heat and stir. Pour a serving of wine into a separate glass for drinking purposes. This step is crucial to the cooking process ;)

  3. While you are waiting for the sauce to reach a boil, cook your gluten free pasta in a separate pan. Cook to al dente, drain and set aside.

  4. When you feel the sauce has reached your desired thickness, add your cooked pasta and protein. Cover with a lid and allow to simmer for a few more minutes on very low heat.

  5. Serve garnished with freshly chopped parsley, grated parmesan and a wedge of lemon.

  • As mentioned, the garnishes are optional! However I strongly suggest, as the brightness from the flavors of the lemon and fresh herbs really help to round out the flavors of a rich and decadent meal.

  • When using dairy, I recommend trying to find local, organic products. This is the brand that I used and it’s wonderful! Grass-fed + organic, it’s perfect for the occasional indulgence, without worrying about the ultra processing.

  • Because this dish is on the ‘heavier’ side, it would pair great with a steamed veggie such as broccoli, or a lightly dressed salad.

Hoping you get to enjoy this delicious meal with a loved one. (and don’t forget about pouring yourself that glass of wine to enjoy, you deserve it, girl.)
