Açaí Bowls are all the hype right now! And for very good reason. They look and taste amazing + they’re packed full of health benefits.

I had my first Açaí bowl when I was living in the most beautiful place on earth IMO – Hawaii !!! Theres just something about that island breeze and a delish Açaí bowl.

I’m so excited to share this new, VERY simple recipe with you, but first, let’s talk benefits!

1.) Antioxidants

This is probably the most commonly know benefit of açaí. It’s PACKED with antioxidants. These help with detoxing your body which then, boosts your metabolism, leading to better digestion and weight loss! #win

2.) Energy Boost

Açaí berries are great for boosting your energy. Eating these especially after a workout can help with muscle recovery and fighting fatigue.

3.) Vitamin Rich

Açaí is packed full of essential vitamins including A, E, and C (super good for boosting your immune system!) It’s also a good source of healthy fats, protein and fiber.

4.) Eliminates Free Radicals

Free radicals are molecules that float around in your body and when there are too many, they end up causing serious diseases and even cancer. They also speed up the the aging process by breaking down the collagen in your body, for example. By eliminating the free radicals, açaí helps to prevent all these terrible things from happening to your body.

With all these benefits, who can say no to indulging in this yummy treat?! Below is a recipe for my favorite homemade açaí bowl at the moment!

What you’l Need:

  • i cup frozen blueberries

  • 1 cup frozen mango

  • 2 tbsp Freeze-dried organic Acai (Find My favorite HERE)

  • 1/2 cup - 1 cup almond milk (add more if needed)

How To:

  • Add the blueberries, mango, acai and half of the almond milk to your high speed blender (My Vitamix Blender is perfect for the job). Pulse until the ingredients are mostly chopped.

  • Add a bit more almond milk and using your tamper, push the ingredients towards the blades while blending at a medium speed. This will take some patience, but it’s SO worth the wait!

  • Once the mixture has turned into a smooth consistency, transfer it to your favorite serving bowl.

  • Top with your favorite things! (ex: Granola, chia seeds, coconut, raw honey, fresh fruit)
